Although a lot of people have to travel really far every year when Christmas comes around, I never have to travel any farther than a twenty minute drive. While some people may think that this short of a trip doesn’t sound very fun, I am actually quite thankful that I don’t have to do any traveling during the holiday season. While I have never had to experience holiday traveling first-hand, I have plenty of friends who have told me about their experiences, and from everything that I have heard, it is a very stressful time that I am very happy I get to avoid.
The reason that I don’t have to do any traveling around Christmas is because not only do I live in Seattle, but so does all of my immediate family. While there is enough space in between us so that we don’t get on each other’s nerves, I think it’s really special that we all get to be so involved in each other’s lives. While a lot of families only get to see each other once or twice a year, we all get to spend time with each other at least once a week (if not more often).
