If you are visiting Seattle for the first time then you’ll probably want to hit up all the hot tourist attractions like the Space Needle, Pike’s Market and the worlds very first Starbuck’s. However if you are a fan of music then the Seattle Experience Music Project should definitely be on the top of your destination list. The Seattle Experience Music Project is a very special attraction that you won’t find anywhere else in the world.

Housed in a 140,000 square foot ultra-modern architecture facility, the Experience Music Project was started to give homage and praise to the past, present and future of Seattle’s music and musicians. There are dozens of activities and various exhibits at the Experience Music Project. There is a 1000 person seated auditorium where local schools and various Seattle musicians perform live, free concerts, an interactive hands-on music laboratory where you can learn to play a variety of real musical instruments like keyboards, guitars, drums and basses. Recently some of the most exciting exhibits at the Seattle Experience Music Project have been a collection of grudge-band era memorabilia from Seattle native bands Nirvana and Pearl Jam, a detailed timeline and extensive collection of handwritten songs from Jimi Hendrix and even a huge collection of vintage guitars dating back to the 1800′s.

The Seattle Experience Music Project is one of the most unique and exciting attractions in Seattle. Not only will children of all ages love the hands-on interactive exhibits but even the adults will quickly find themselves playing along too.
