Saving Money on a Car Rental in Seattle

I really like Seattle. A lot of people complain that it rains too much in Seattle, but although it can seem strange at first, you get used to it after a short amount of time. Now, just to clarify, I don’t actually live in Seattle (I have lived in North Carolina for the majority of my adult life), but I do travel to Seattle every one to two months for a business trip. Depending on what I have to accomplish during my trip to Seattle, I may spend as little as two or three days there, or I may end up being in Seattle for nine to ten days.

Regardless of how long a specific business trip is going to last, one thing that I always ensure my assistant does before my trips is reserving a rental car for me to use. In addition to getting where I have to go while I am in Seattle, I like having the freedom to go where I want to go in Seattle. There are a lot of excellent restaurants in Seattle, and I always look forward to a top of the line dining experience during my trips to Seattle.

Snag a Cheap Car Rental in Seattle

While I will be the first to admit that Seattle doesn’t have the best weather ever, this doesn’t mean that it’s not still a great place to visit. I have been to Seattle several times over the last few years, and I have thoroughly enjoyed every trip that I have taken there. From checking out the Space Needle to visiting the Seattle Aquarium to enjoying all of the cultural activities that you can find in Seattle, I have had no problem finding lots of fun things to do during all of my trips to Seattle.

One thing I have learned from my multiple trips to Seattle is that you really need to have a rental car to get around. There are a lot of things to do in Seattle, and getting around without a rental car can turn into a bit of pain. However, getting a rental car doesn’t have to cost a lot. As long as you reserve it online before your trip (there are an endless amount of sites that will help you do this), you should have no problem picking up a cheap car rental for your time in Seattle.

What Car Rental Companies are at the Seattle Airport?

Filed under: Car Rental - 28 Oct 2008

When I was planning for my trip to Seattle several months ago, one of the things that I had to look into was getting a rental car. When I started looking into what options were available to me, I realized that I could actually get a rental car directly from the Seattle airport. Because this seemed like the most efficient way to get a rental car, I decided to find out what companies offered this specific service.

There are five rental car companies that not only have a counter at the Seattle airport, but also have their vehicles at the Seattle airport. These companies are Alamo, Avis, Budget, Hertz and National. Although I would recommend renting from one of these five companies, there are also some other options available. There are four companies who have a counter at the Seattle airport but have their rental cars off-site (Advantage, Dollar, Enterprise and Thrifty), and there are another four rental car companies that don’t have a counter at the airport but are located nearby (E-Z, Century/Rent Rite, Fox and U Save). The final decision depends on you, but as you can see, there are plenty of rental options that are available.

How Do You Rent a Car from the Seattle Airport?

Seattle is a bustling city with lots of things to do and see, so if you are planning on taking a trip there, you will want to be sure that you have a rental car to get around in. I was just in Seattle two months ago, and if I wouldn’t have had a rental car while I was there, my trip would have been extremely frustrating instead of the enjoyable experience that it was for me.

The great thing about the Seattle airport is that there are quite a few rental car companies located directly in the airport. I can’t remember every single one, but some of the companies include National, Budget, Alamo and Thrifty. While you can wait until you arrive at the Seattle airport to get a rental car, why don’t you do what I did and make your reservation online? By checking out the deals online, I guarantee you will be able to save yourself some money. On top of that, since you can complete the entire car rental reservation process online, once you actually arrive at the Seattle airport, all you will need to do is pick-up your rental car and get on your way.

Can You Actually Find Cheap Car Rent in Seattle?

Seattle is definitely not one of the cheaper cities in the United States. I have visited and lived in quite the wide variety of cities throughout the United States, and although Seattle is not the most expensive city I have visited, it is also far from being the cheapest. If you are going to take a trip there, you are definitely going to have a good time (it really doesn’t take that long to get used to the rain), but make sure you have some flexibility in your budget to ensure that you don’t put yourself in the red while you are hanging out in the city.

Even though a large percentage of Seattle can be quite pricey (or at least it always seems that way), there are ways to find cheap deals on certain things. One thing that I have been consistently successful at finding is cheap car rent in Seattle. Anytime I am planning on taking a trip there, I hop online and start browsing around the current rental car rates in Seattle. Normally, it only takes a little while before I find a cheap one, and once I do, I make sure to reserve it right away!

If you are heading to Seattle soon for a business trip or vacation, you will want to be sure that your rental car arrangements are taken care of before you actually arrive at the airport. If you wait until you arrive in Seattle to find a rental car, you are going to run into two issues. The first issue is waiting. Like most airports, the Seattle airport is almost always packed with people. Therefore, if you are trying to get a rental car, you are far from being alone. Even though you won’t have to leave the airport to get a rental car, you will end up waiting in line for quite some time. The other issue you will encounter is paying more for a rental car. When you rent your car from a company in person, you are almost always going to end up paying more.

If you want to make the Seattle airport car rental experience easier on yourself, all you need to do is make your arrangements online. Not only can you search around for the best price, but you can also complete your order online, so you will be able to simply pick up your rental car when you arrive in Seattle.

Get a Rental Car in Seattle from a Major Company

Filed under: Car Rental, Car Rental Seattle - 29 Aug 2008

So, you’re going to Seattle and you need to have a rental car to get around the city. When put in this situation, far too many people wait until they arrive in Seattle and then visit a major rental company to find a rental car. Not only is renting a car in this way a waste of time, but it is also a waste of the money in your wallet. When you go to a rental car company in person, they know that you obviously really need a rental car, so they’re not going to feel the need to offer you a discount because they know you will rent a car regardless of what they charge you.

You can still get a rental car in Seattle from a major company, but you should make your car rental reservation on the Internet. In addition to making your reservation directly through the website of a major rental company (many of them do offer good deals, but they are only available online), you can also find a rental car comparison website that only deals with major companies, such as Hotwire.

Here’s What I Know About Car Rental in Seattle

Although it’s not as well known to the general public as Silicon Valley, Seattle is a hot bed of technological innovation and entrepreneurs. Therefore, when I was in the process of getting my company started, I made a lot of trips to Seattle and spent a considerable amount of time there. From other entrepreneurs to potential investors, a lot of the people I needed to have meetings with were located in Seattle.

Even though you may think start-up companies have lots of money to burn when they receive investments, the truth is it takes a lot of well-spent money to get a company off the ground. Therefore, I was always trying to find ways to save money, especially in the area of travel. In addition to saving money on my actual flights, I found that the Internet was very useful in saving money on my car rental in Seattle. By visiting comparison websites, along with the websites of the major car rental companies, I was able to get a rental car at a great rate every single time that I had to make a trip to Seattle.

Car Rental Seattle

Are you trying to find a car rental in Seattle? You have the right idea if you’re looking online (and how else would you be reading this?) because most rental companies offer discounts to customers who book their plans online and book their rental dates in advance. It pays to be as cheap as possible when looking for a car rental in Seattle. Even if you want to drive in style and spare no expense, you can still dismiss a large portion of your bill by booking early and by forgoing unnecessary expenses.

One of the most unnecessary expenses involved in a car rental in Seattle is the insurance arrangement. Most companies will ask you if you want to order insurance for your vehicle. The types of insurance available will usually consist of liability insurance and insurance for loss or damage of the vehicle. A driver does need liability insurance; however, many motorists believe they need additional liability insurance for a rental car, even if their current insurance policy allows them coverage with all cars. Check with your insurance provider to make sure. You might also check to see if your credit card company offers rental damage coverage. Why pay for duplicate insurance if you don’t have to?

Another method of saving money on a car rental in Seattle is to book your rental dates on the weekend, a time when companies usually offer a special deal. If this is not an option then ask for any discounts for a full week’s rental. Paying for a car rental in Seattle by the day is the most expensive way to do business.
